This!!! ^^^⁣⁣

⁣⁣

After turning 30 last week it’s almost as if something has clicked. Not that you have to wait until you are 30 to apply this to your life (I’d recommend this sooner) . I was definitely getting here 1-2 years ago. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Even if you think you know yourself in your 20’s (like I thought I did) it’s not until a decade rolls by where you truly realise you had no fucking clue. The things that happened and they way I dealt with them would not be in the same way today. 🙏🏼 Still no regrets though, obviously. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

There’s something about turning 30 and truly giving less of a shit about the unimportant things in life that you do not see clearly throughout the twenties.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

My best friend has written Baz Luhrmann’s pearls of wisdom in my card from his “Sunscreen” hit in 1999 and I had to share.⁣⁣

⁣ - Don’t worry about the future or worry but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.⁣

- Do one thing everyday that scares you.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

- Don’t be reckless with other peoples hearts. Don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

- Don’t waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you’re ahead. Sometimes you’re behind. The race is long and in the end it’s only with yourself. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

- Keep your old love letters, throw away old bank statements.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

- Enjoy your body, use it every way you can. Don’t be afraid of what other people think of it. It’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

- Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your own living room.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

- Understand that friends come and go. But a precious few, who you should hold on to. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle. For as the older you get the more you need people you knew when you were young. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Feeling loved, spoilt, healthy, strong and sassy.⁣⁣
